“Dr. Gokhale holds a B. Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado, USA. His career in water & wastewater started in 1997, and since then he has gained vast experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, wastewater recycling and sludge treatment, and water and sewerage networks. Dr. Gokhale worked with numerous industrial and municipal clients in India, Australia and Oman across all project phases. A recognized expert in process design, commissioning and troubleshooting, he has led the process design of many municipal wastewater treatment plants.

Some of his notable projects are: Several wastewater treatment plants for Hunter Water in Australia including Membrane Bioreactor Plants for unrestricted urban reuse; Technologist on Sydney Water’s Biosolids Reduction Study; Digester audit under Malabar PARR; Concept to Commissioning for Manikchand’s Oxyrich Packaged Drinking Water Project in India; Concept to Commissioning of Lime Softening of Raw Water from River Ganga for ITC Triveni Tissues near Kolkata; Several water supply projects in the State of Jharkhand in India; Brackish Water Desalination Plant for Gulfar in Oman; Oxygenated Packaged Drinking Water project in Oman; Water Recycling Masterplan for the City of Hyderabad, India; 564 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant in New Delhi under Yamuna Action Plan III; Many sewage treatment plants for Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board and for Pune Municipal Corporation.

At NJS and NJSEI in additional to his management role as Director, he is the Lead Process Expert on various water and wastewater treatment projects across India with a combined capacity of more than 2000 MLD.”

Amit Thite is a Senior Project Engineering/Management professional with 22+ years of experience in Project and Asset Management as well as Engineering Management experience of small, medium, and large-scale water/wastewater treatment and desalination projects in power, oil and gas, municipal water, utility & infrastructure projects in Australia and India.

He has Exposure to Sydney Water operational environment. He has track record of effectively and efficiently delivering the program of works safely to the agreed standards and specifications by the client and compliance to internal business processes as defined in Project Management Plan. Demonstrated experience in assisting Risk Management, Project Variations management with Sales and Project Management Groups in design, estimation, cost control, capacity planning, inspection, site commissioning support and performance testing in various O&M and FM projects. Sound commercial awareness and trained in different company’s standards for safety, quality, sustainability, and the environment.

He also has experience in providing expertise in mechanical, electrical, and civil packages on multidisciplinary construction projects in water infrastructure.
